  That's right they had one called Milo and one called Max. When the dogs came in from the back yard, if Milo was first through the door Kiwi would shout "Max!" but if it was Max first he would call "Milo!" .. very clever birds ...

  He learned to talk two homes ago! His language is very situation oriented, if you know what I mean. The postman was walking down the garden path the other day, and Kiwi said "woof woof woof woof woof", as if he was a dog (Milo)! Amazing. Whistling is something he just does..

  I love the way these birds copy there owners accents never taught id here a bird say "hello darling" in a Yorkshire accent lol

  what a precious and well-love african greay. ive had mine 16 yrs and she stopped talking for awhile and still hasnt come back to former blabbermouth. i got really sick and stopped interacting with her constantly as i had before. it took awhile to get well enough to interact. i was very sick. i miss her constant talking so much and as she listens to kiwi she is mimicking his amazing songs in between the words,  she is also finding her voice again. i will keep playing it for her....thanks so much. kiwi is sooo adorable and precious..

  You can tell looking at their throat they're really distending their vocal cords when they're imitating human speech. Guess they're flexible that way.
