TY for these videos. I am about a 1800 rated player and have struggled against the French defense to the point where i have just abandoned many games if they open e6. However after watching this video it has given me some fun new lines to play. I even got the checkmate with the knight and bishop after sacrificing my rook on a6. It is nice to come up with ideas on your own but there is something extremely satisfying about studying something and then being able to implement it in your game. Thanks again

I reached this exact position after move 8, and my opponent replied with Kd8, which is a better move than castling. After that the position had none of the obvious attacking tactics, and a few minor mistakes later, black equalized.

I put the line in my Lichess study and named it "Smimov's Waterloo Attack" (Feel fee to use it! LOL)

Some lines + principles after black pushes pawn D4. Because even if it's a "bad idea" lots of beginner French defense players do it.
