  yes, you can hold select to inflate the balloons but that’s for SQUARES<br><br>ok but another actual correction: the item stat is only relevant in time trials, it does not affect the main races.

The only thing it actually does is determine your number of Super Mushrooms in Time Trials.

  <b>10K SUBS REACHED! SAM SQUAD ON TOP BABY!</b><br><br>Mario Kart DS was not only my first mario kart game, but it was probably also one of the first VIDEO GAMES I ever played. I have so many fond memories of this game I can&apos;t even keep track of them all. That being said, I think it&apos;s still pretty easy to see the flaws in the game. My ass is NOT defending the retro selection in this game, and it&apos;s also the game to introduce the blooper to the series so that&apos;s quite unfortunate.<br><br>I think you were actually a lot nicer to the track selection in this game than I am. My thing with this game is that while the game is fun to control and has some pretty fun physics, they don&apos;t really affect my opnion too much on the tracks themselves unless they REALLY have something to show. For example, I&apos;m not as forgiving to GBA luigi circuit and yoshi circuit because while they are fun to shmoove around on normally, Delfino Square is RIGHT THERE bro, so I end up paying them less attention, since they&apos;re tracks that focus on movement and no obstacles in a sea of other tracks with movement and no obstacles. The courses themselves are quite mixed, but the game itself is really fun to learn with the mini turbos, so I think I even enjoy playing on some of the weaker tracks just becasue the controls are pretty good! Doesn&apos;t mean I appreciate the tracks themselves any more because of that though, I&apos;m not going to bat for figure 8 circuit just because I can pull off a bunch of mini turbos on it... I think that goes to show that even if the game&apos;s track selection is meh, I think the game itself is still pretty solid even without my nostalgia! With my nostalgia it&apos;s the greatest video game ever and anyone who says otherwise is stupid and dumb and a poopy butt face.<br><br>Also that thing you said at the end about playing games without giving too much thought about what the people on the line say about it is gonna be a LOT more relevant, since the next game in the series is Mario Kart Wii. MKWii&apos;s my favourite entry in the series and even I sometimes get tired of people gassing it up. 💀<br><br>Great video like always, excited to see what you&apos;ll cook up next!

  This has got to be your best video yet. I love how it’s formatted so well and each topic is flowed into each other effectively and effortlessly. I really think you’ve perfected your editing and video making style, you very much nailed it! <br><br>I also want to give you credit for acknowledging that the game has not aged well but still deserves merit recognition. Too often you see a false dichotomy of “this is old therefore bad” or “games now are nothing like this therefore good” and i applaud you for having a nuanced take on this game.
