  The worst part of all of these professions that no longer pay well even with a collage degree is they almost always come with a huge amount of student loan debt. Very bad situation

  My sister is a pharmacist of 30 years and a decade ago she tried to warn new students to stay away from this profession because of the terrible working conditions, and obvious oversupply of pharma students. &nbsp;All the newcomers could see is $$$ and thought she was just trying to protect her own job. &nbsp;Sure enough the profession became oversaturated, and these corporate pharmacies started treating their pharmacists more and more like expendable slaves. &nbsp;Everyone in the profession now is a wage slave.

  same is true for LCSW. Got fired from my internship day before Christmas and New Years they hired me to work the Psych unit in S. Central LA 1989. Today If I accept a position doing on line therapy Im lucky to get 40.00 hr, while thru out 90-2010 I got up to 200.00...We are becoming a third world country..no healthcare and homeless slums everywhere, plus we are in really bad health from toxic food....the govt don&apos;t need to bomb us..

  Dude - the internet happened. &nbsp;It has killed ALL retail. &nbsp;Pharmacy is retail. &nbsp;You are correct - it&apos;s as dead as Macys.

  I graduated from Pharmacy school with a PharmD degree in 2004. &nbsp;Once I graduated I immediately went to work for Walgreens. &nbsp;After 2 years I became a Pharmacy Mgr. &nbsp;Retail pharmacy is the worst job to have. &nbsp;Back then you stood the entire day and were lucky to even get a 30 min lunch break. &nbsp;When it got busy you didn&apos;t eat and barely had time to use the restroom. &nbsp;Customers were inpatient, rude and irresponsible. &nbsp;If they forgot to refill their medication it was the pharmacy&apos;s fault. &nbsp;If their doctor didn&apos;t call in the script it was the pharmacy&apos;s fault. &nbsp;If their insurance didn&apos;t pay for their medication it&apos;s the pharmacy&apos;s fault. &nbsp;Customer&apos;s were ridiculous with their demands. &nbsp;We were treated as if we worked in a fast food restaurant and got yelled at if we didn&apos;t get their script out fast enough. &nbsp;It didn&apos;t help that Walgreens corporate office loved to keep the pharmacy understaffed to increase profits. &nbsp;They had metrics for everything. &nbsp;You had to get a prescription out within 15 mins. &nbsp;You had to sell a lot of generic meds because that&apos;s where they made the most amount of money. &nbsp;It was beyond ridiculous how stressed out we were. &nbsp;Not to mention Walgreens and CVS were battling it out on every street corner. &nbsp;They saturated the market with stores which caused the need for more pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. &nbsp;When they did that their profit from every store decreased because there was just too many stores in the market. &nbsp;That caused pharmacy schools to open up everywhere saturating the pharmacist market. &nbsp;When Walgreens found itself in too much debt from opening too many stores too soon, they shut them down and sold them and left a lot of pharmacists out of a job. &nbsp;With the increase of thefts, they lost a lot of money and had to close even more stores which led to more pharmacists and pharmacy technicians unemployed. &nbsp;Then pharmacists were forced to give vaccinations while having the same amount of staff as before. &nbsp;You have these idiotic corporate people who are not even pharmacists making decisions about how the pharmacy should be run to make it more profitable. &nbsp;It didn&apos;t help that every pharmacist got paid the same wage and salary was not based on merit. &nbsp;You had really lazy pharmacists who didn&apos;t care to work hard because they knew that they were getting paid the same as the person who was busting their ass on the job. &nbsp;Honestly, it is literally the worst profession to be in. &nbsp;I graduated in 2004 and retired in 2009 to have my child. &nbsp;Even working 5 years with that horrendous company made me burned out and regret my career choice.

  Law schools that enlarged their students population see their graduates fail the barr dramatically higher.

  A lady I used to work with worked as a pharmacy tech. &nbsp;She said the pharmacists hate having to administer vaccines. &nbsp;It interrupts their work flow; &nbsp; have to be diligent to avoid mistakes. &nbsp;Some of the customers have needle stick fears or react negatively to the vaccines. &nbsp;And as this clip states, the working conditions are bad...coughing, even sicker customers in your face...sometimes mentally ill ones. &nbsp; It&apos;s &nbsp;high volume work, people mad if their prescriptions can&apos;t be refilled...many other issues. &nbsp;Plus you can only sit down at meal breaks...makes it tough for older staff.

  As a pharmacist who worked for Riteaid before the closure, it was inhumane conditions to work in. Non-stop phone calls, non-stop electronic prescriptions, long lines at the register, issues upon issues, there was no room to breathe. &nbsp;Will come home and not want to talk to anyone and begin having headaches, etc. Now I have a new job after Riteaid closing and it is less than a quarter of my duties at Riteaid and still gets paid more. I asked myself the question of how someone is being paid more to do this while some of us suffer. What I see in Pharmacy is all about company and location.

  Those jobs that require heavy memorization with little to no physical work are eventually replaced by AI.
