💬 I'm so sure I've heard this before, but this version is just something else! Remarkable! Definitely feels like a fantasy-like song!

The rendition with the poem at the end is best.

So glad you enjoyed it. This is a performance delivered decades after the song was released, but singer-songwriter Justin Hayward hasn't slipped a bit.

The lead singer Justin wrote this song when he was 19 years old, in one day. The record label argued against having the orchestra. Good thing the band prevailed and history was made. I'm 74 and will never get enough of hearing this song.

These guys were the FIRST! The fathers of "symphonic rock" or "progressive rock". Pink Floyd and everyone else learned it from them. This song, their biggest hit was written by Justin Hayward, the lead singer (on this song, like the Beatles the lead changes depending on the song, they are ALL lead quality singers) when he was 19! The girl he thought was the love of his life had left him. This was his lament for a lost love, unsure if such would ever come again. Everybody has been there, at some time, so everybody identifies.

This concert is in the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the orchestra is the London festival orchestra.

From 1967-73 the Moodys released seven epic albums that were in a genre all of their own. Lead guitarist and singer/songwriter Justin Hayward has the voice of an angel and was the cosmic force behind most of the band's greatest songs.<br>BTW, you are a charming and lovely lass. Keep doing what you're doing❤️

You might think that they brought in this orchestra for the concert, but the song made around 1967 sounded exactly like this on the record and on the radio as far as I remember.
