The narcissist that opened my eyes to narcissism used to pay me compliments but they never felt good. I thought <i>I</i> had to be the jerk for not being grateful for the compliment. In hindsight, I now realize they were never really compliments, after all. A true compliment makes you feel good, or better, NOT worse.

My sister is a 40 point, highest score you can get, psychopath according to Dr. Robert Hare’s PCL-R. Good luck trying to educate people on what to look for. They are like a spider who has built a grandiose, unbelievably complex and beautiful web. You’re either attracted to to the web and want a closer look, or the web snags you by a gossamer strand. Either way, the spider knows you’re curious and comes in with paralyzing and overwhelming grandiosity, wraps you up, then proceeds to slowly suck the life out of you.

My neighbour really liked to talk over me and try to control the conversation, and speak for you, and down to you. He gave almost everyone a bad vibe. I remember a woman who ran a small restaurant used to lock the door on him to avoid being alone with him. Everyone felt the same about him.
