Well, you’ve gone and done it! You got me interested in watching glue dry.
This video was one of my favourites of yours. I don’t know if it was the fact that I’m really bad at this part of the hobby (so I learnt a few new things), or your sense of humour. Really enjoyed it. Thanks. Regards from Madeira. Keep safe.

What an amazing job you've done so far David, I wish I had half your patience and dedication. looking at it you'd never think it had been in such a parlous state beforehand. you should be very proud of your efforts. and kudos to your wife as well for her supporting you in your hobby.

It didn't go unnoticed that you had chirpy, happy music during the progress work and then the sad tragedy music when you had to rip off the veneer and then when you realised the grain was the wrong way.
Yes, I notice these things. 😉

Really taking shape now. I was gutted for you the first time with the lid. Pleased to see no rope required! Look forward to pt4.

Great restoration series so far. Looking forward to the next part. Really like the multipe camera setup, all the editing work and thought you put in to the music. It's very satisfying to watch!

I am now watching glue dry. Thankfully I can fast forward through the boring parts. It came out quite amazing David. Putting a finish on it will make it spectacular!

    Dave,
It never ceases to amaze me the miracles you manage to work on the things you work on! It broke my heart to see you have to strip off the vanier you had just installed. I might have given up...but you did an amazing job in rework. The one stain that I thought was really going to work for me turned out to be like the one you used here, with mostly red shades. I didn't mind having SOME red in it, but mostly wanted a dark brown color. Understand, I'm not complaining about your work...it looks great...just saying that I understand the fact that color choices can be difficult.
Some of the things you did are absolute MIRACLES!!! Cutting off the excess vanier, making that hole in the vanier (WITHOUT making a major mess of it), so many acts of brilliance that amaze us and are appreciated! You teach us well!
