An important note is that he was caught stealing only 4 times while stealing 59 bases.. Acuna with his 73 steals got caught 14 times. Being caught is around 3x as bad as 1 steal is good, so Ohtani's 59 steals is actually significantly more impressive than Acuna's 73 steals. And that's not counting the Homeruns lol..

Been watchimg MLB since the 70's. My father has been watching since the 50's. We each have our  favorite players. However both agree that Ohtani is the best baseball player we have ever seen. We are very fortunate to witness such an athlete during our lifetime.

Like many ppl have been saying, i started watching baseball again b/c of Ohtani. If thats not a testament to his greatness I don't know what is.

50/50 was on my birthday and I was watching the game. As a huge Ohtani fan it was the greatest birthday I have ever had.

Honestly, I can’t wait until we get to the chapter where he starts coming off the bench for the Lakers as a power forward to keep in shape for baseball season. And wins the NBA’s 6th man of year after leading the Lakers to a championship. Afterwards he comments “I’d love to stay and celebrate, but I have to get back to the diamond. I’m on pace for a 60-60 season this year.”

Shohei was truly going through a tough time in 2024. Just being betrayed by a partner he trusted completely must be an unimaginable emotional burden. On top of that, he's faced gambling accusations from haters and the media, was joked about by Serena Williams at the ESPYS award, and he had to deal with investigations and media inquiries. Despite all this, he hasn’t complained once, has handled everything with sincerity, and continued to deliver outstanding results. His character is truly exceptional. I’m just so glad he now has Mamiko, Decoy, their soon-to-be-born baby, and supportive teammates and staff by his side.

As a professional, it goes without saying that Ohtani never spends his season aiming for the MVP, but rather declares that he is simply playing his best to help the team win. It all comes down to the results, but the fact that he has such extraordinary stats, yet plays more as a team player than as an individual player, proves how much he contributes to the team.

One of the best things about him is when he hits a home run he turns around and gets the entire dugout hype 😊😊😊

Shohei is one of a kind player that all of us probably would not see again in a very very very long time or ever again.
