Starting in Kochi, we rented a car and made our way up into the mountains toward Munnar — and now we finally understand why everyone told us to come here. We visited one of the oldest tea plantations, wandered through the rolling hills, and checked into a beautiful and surprisingly affordable hotel surrounded by nature. We rented the car from AVS Selfdrive Car Rentals (https://maps.app.goo.gl/m5fWc7edt9rMp...) and communicated to them via Whatsapp. They can deliver and pick up the car for a small fee. If you don't have a local bank account then you'll have to explain to them that you have to pay everything in cash. When you return the car, make sure to ask them to check the car right away so you can get your cash deposit back. Their normal policy is to return the deposit via bank transfer after 3 days but that only works with local banks. It was overall a smooth experience and they were really clear about pricing and checked driver details. It felt safe and they were honest, that's why we're recommending them!
