  The mind, the ego, whatever you want to call it, it seems to want to preserve itself when our consciousness experiences it in what we call the human experience. I realized that the ego's preoccupation with self-protection limits growth and awareness. Once you observe the thoughts decay by not attending to them (the ones that limit you or fill you with self-doubt), freedom arrives.
