  For me this movie was Meg Ryan's absolute peak, even better than When Harry Met Sally. It was also when I realised that Tom Hanks was an actor, not just a good comedic actor, a real, genuinely great actor full stop. I couldn't believe how well he played the role and it definitely went a very log way to preparing me for the later, more dramatic things he played in. Personally I think the only role he played better was the lead in Philadelphia. That's not criticising Saving Private Ryan, Apollo 13, Forrest Gump or anything else he did, it's just such a towering role, especially given how quietly he played Sam and how he managed to load it with entirely believable emotion that could all too easily have been schmaltzy and cheesy in lesser hands.

  Sleepless in Seattle, a movie that always makes me cry more than a little bit.  I love that Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan only appear together once before the final eye watering scene.  It's all about finding that one special person in your life.

  This was a sickly sweet movie, but it was one of the best romcoms ever. I think I need to re-watch it.

  Rob Reiner, with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, was unbeatable in the early 90s. Changed what Rom-Com is supposed to be, changed everything about people's perception of what perfect love is and destiny and everything.

  Hank's and Ryan were magical this movie and you've got mail were exceptional and can watch every few years to visit with them again it's like rereading a good book
