  Those guys coming out of the building screaming were being burned alive by the white phosphorus round the tank put in the ground floor. Burns on contact with oxygen. Very hard to put out. Burns at around 1500°. Very harmful to humans.

  Smoking an SS officer is already completely morally justified. <br>One who kills kids? Shit, if anything he got off easy being shot. Fuck that guy.

  This happpened a lot more times than most people know. After Malmedy, pretty much anyone in SS uniform was summarily shot on sight. On January 1, 1945 troops under Gen Patton executed roughly 80 unarmed German soldiers in the Belgian town of Chenogne. Patton himself made sure news and evidence of this event was buried.

  There was an effort not to take SS Officers prisoner. They committed more atrocities, like shooting captured Americans.

  FUN FACT: The paperwork the SS officer was holding up was his &quot;soldbuch&quot;. Essentially, it was his official ID proving he was an officer. What the movie didn&apos;t explain to the audience was that he expected the Americans to treat him as an officer in the German Heer (German Army). Sadly for him, he chose to saddle up with the SS (not part of the Germany military ((Wermacht)), but the armed wing of the Nazi Party).<br><br>He chose... poorly.
