Kein einziger Nagel hielt diese 500 Jahre alten Häuser

#Woodcraft, #Timberframing Vunaro Hearth Fire — The Forgotten Power of the Broad Axe Why have some timber-framed houses stood rock-solid for five hundred years, while modern buildings rot after just a few decades? The answer lies not in secret recipes or magic, but in an asymmetrically forged piece of iron that every farmer and carpenter once guarded like their own life. Join us on a journey through icy winter forests, smoking village smithies, and vast construction sites where the fate of entire villages depended on a single tool. We'll delve into the account books from 1482, trace the arduous journey of sixty kilograms of charcoal for a single kilogram of crucible steel, and discover why the five-degree angled handle of the axe saved the carpenters' knuckles. Even when the first two-man saws appeared in the eighteenth century, the hand-forged broad axe maintained its irreplaceable place on the construction site. Did your ancestors still work with an axe, or are there still old timber-framed houses in your region with these wavy marks? Share your story in the comments and join Vunaro Herdfeuer on his quest.
