КТО ТАКОЙ ТРАЯН? | ВЕЛИЧАЙШИЙ ЗАВОЕВАТЕЛЬ РИМСКОЙ ИМПЕРИИ | ДРЕВНИЙ РИМ

During the reign of Marcus Ulpius Trajan, the Roman Empire reached its greatest extent—from Britain to the Persian Gulf. A boy from the Spanish provinces became the "Optimus Princeps," whose military and administrative triumphs became the benchmark for all subsequent Roman rulers. ⚔️ The Path to Power: How the assassination of Domitian and the weakness of Emperor Nerva led to the adoption of the popular governor of Germania Superior. 🏛️ Rome's Golden Age: The end of the system of denunciation, the introduction of an alimentary system for the poor, and large-scale construction, including the expansion of the harbor at Ostia. 🌉 The Dacian Wars: Revenge on King Decebalus for the humiliating peace of the past, the construction of a grand stone bridge across the Danube by the engineer Apollodorus of Damascus, and the transformation of Dacia into a Roman province. 📜 Christians and Bureaucracy: Trajan's pragmatic correspondence with Pliny the Younger, prohibiting anonymous denunciations and mass persecution of believers. 🗺️ Eastern Triumph and Collapse: The conquest of Parthia, the capture of Ctesiphon, access to the sea, and the subsequent rebellions in Mesopotamia and among the Jewish diaspora. 🤫 Mystery of Succession: Trajan's death in 117, the suspicious deathbed adoption of Hadrian (possibly orchestrated by his widow Plotina), and the new emperor's immediate abandonment of his eastern conquests.
