  The listed auction price is just a placeholder. The gotcha is the mast rigging and sails. At least $600K++. &nbsp;Each halyard for a boat this size is $3k. &nbsp; And electric -$250K+ I see a 50/50 chance it will get recycled into aluminum cans.

  Cmon someone buy this boat, I love to watch dramas. She now stands untouched for 34 years - surrounded by professional shipyards. Located in Europe not the US. James&apos;s high-end calculations don&apos;t even come close to the expected costs. Laws, regulations, and rules are a nightmare. Building a shelter without a permit - think again. Handling paints, fuels, or oils without containment systems - think again. Working as long as you can and want? Ever heard of noise pollution? - think again. Ever carried out a heavy transport in Europe? Route permits, safety precautions, escort crews - think again. It will go just like Walmart&apos;s entry into the European market. Euphoric, confident, certain of victory, and with truckloads of money. And in the end – disaster. But I&apos;m far too pessimistic. I know the man who restored her little sister, Trintella 57 A. He invested over 1.2 million and sold it for 590k after completion. :face-pink-tears:

  MY OPINION, I think Sampson Boat Co did this right. &nbsp;Leo is a professional wood boat builder, with a dream, and a long term approach. His story was interesting because he found a way to live cheaply, and quickly begin the work that demonstrated his skills. Current travel vlog, not so interesting.<br>Parlay Revival I liked as Colin demonstrated a strong desire and willingness to work through many issues with his engineering skills and tenacity. <br>I think this build would require a committed a skilled craftsman and a vision to make a good new you tube for me.

  Just the mast will cost over 200k just the winches will cost 50k if you have 1 million you could turn this boat into a 750k boat.

  The engine is an MTU,Wich is one of the best engines there is. &nbsp;Would not replace it.

  James is 1000% correct. YouTubers blow up your channel, attract sponsors and more by documenting a refit. We have a Florida stored, FB listed 2005 Jeanneau 49DS, former privately owned cruiser, sailed into the yard, stored on land. Hit by storm that broke the mast. She&apos;s begging for a refit. We will slash the sales price to get her to a YouTuber to document the refit. We want her refit by the right person(s) and will assist to get to the finish line. Let&apos;s do this!

  Water tanks between the ribs reminded me of serving on HMS Fearless many moons ago. Embarked forces were limited to 3 cans of lager per man, per night (per haps we used to say) so just about everyone took their daily allocation and hid it behind the panels covering the ribs saving it for &apos;Up Channel Night&apos;. If the old girl ever took a torpedo it would be faced with the reactive armour of gallons of Stella or Kronenhourg exploding 😁

  When you started talking about the displacement and weight of the boat it gave me an idea. Even on tanks with baffles from my experience hauling liquids on the roads the slosh factor is always there. What if you had a pressurized system that filled up airbags inside of the tanks to keep the slosh down to zero. You could even do away with all your pumps other than one compressor pump to keep all the bladders filled. You&apos;re the man maybe you can do something with that idea
