  Those charming old Sino-Portuguese-styled (aka Peranakan architecture) shophouses at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EPLUtPNmBs&amp;t=506">8:26</a> are most prominent in Singapore, especially at its Chinatown. &nbsp;They are called shophouses as it would be anchored by a business on the ground floor, and the proprietor&apos;s residence situated above in the olden days. &nbsp;Nowadays, it&apos;s not used for dual purposes but either businesses or residences. &nbsp;I&apos;ve been inside one of these residential shophouses and it&apos;s really beautiful and so quaint 😍
