If y'all knew the amount of mess that surrounded this video's production y'all.... 🥲 Currently really going through it because of an infection in my (familiar's) hand! Typing and specially drawing kills me, so expect the twist for this one to go live hopefully next week along with the belook, or at least I hope this thing is over by next week! Prayer circle 🙏

I had a yugoloth actually help the party once. Warrior failed the stealth to sneak into the hell portal and it just put a finger to its lips and let him pass. As a DM, I had it working against the devil they were going to kill for its own ends, but for the party it was a trippy moment cause they had no idea what was going on.

Imagine Shamoloth lying about being a good guy, a hero protecting the lands and accidentaly actually becoming one

The fact that yugoloths are a netural party in the blood war, actively profit off of it, and are schemers makes me think that they orchestrated the blood war in its entirety

The Shamaloth is “The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil” personified, and that’s a genuinely terrifying concept!

Imagine a Shamoloth who just takes the credit for a Ultroloth's work to the point where even the Ultroloth is like "Hmmm... maybe my plan was the Shamoloth's plan the whole time" which is what makes the Shamoloth a Shamoloth, because before the Shamoloth... was... I mean... they've always been a Shamoloth, so... they didn't need to become one, right?. And besides it is clear that the Ultroloth was basically working for the Shamoloth the whole time, so... the Shamoloth must have always been a Greater... they have always been great. The Shamoloth has never done wrong, and is looking out for all of us.

I’ve chosen to interpret the Yugoloth promotion process as more of a pitch, like Shark Tank, than a military promotion board, as it’s implied to be.
It works.

Sorry for the second comment, but your whole "power over lies" concept for Yugoloths made me think of what could be a fun inspiration for one. So there's a Sonic creepypasta called Childhood Has Passed. The entire idea is that it's an entity trapped in a higher dimension that preys on your nostalgia to bring you closer to it, then assimilates you. The entity starts harmless looking, but the more you give into it, the more sinister it becomes. Both gaining in power and corrupting your old memories.

The reason I bring this up is because nostalgia could be used as a powerful lie. The lie of "everything was better back then" can be blinding to some people, and even dangerous when wielded correctly. On another note, having other Yugoloths be based off of specific kinds of lies could be a great way to differentiate them.
