God bless Steve Huston. In 2021 he started a private online course that I saw in Facebook, I submitted my drawings and he said he wanted to talk with me. I told him I cannot afford him, but he still wanted to talk to me anyway via Zoom (I'm from Indonesia). In that 30 minutes, he taught me how to have empathy on my own artwork (your art is like your own child analogy), how to take good and bad criticism, and how to create my own curriculum if I cannot afford a mentor. He is just so kind and amazing.

Honestly, this is the best way to use the two screen for my peanut sized attention span, not only can i see how you draw, I can also listen to great advice that I'd usually skip because well, the shorts have ruined me

It might sound weird but the way he thinks really shows in the way he draws, it's confident and wise.
Ty very much for these advices, a lot of us need them

The biggest thing I learned from Steve Huston was just slowing down. Just take my time with doing art and there's nothing wrong being slow.
Great video as always Proko. Nice Draftsman podcast too.

I probably need to hear this everyday for a month or so, I’ve been so burnt out from art because of putting pressure on myself and I miss the joy I used to have.. I’m a video game artist and at some point I felt like I cannot create „bad” stuff, I can’t show anything that’s not deserving of the „professional artist” label. What I loved turned into source of shame and stress. I really want to turn things around and grow again, without judging myself and without all that pressure

I changed my motive for art from 2 decades of enjoyment to improving it as a career-relevant skill. This made me hate drawing, and that hasn't changed for years. This video was everything I needed to hear. Now to try to apply it to action.

There is something quite comforting in hearing the wisdom of those who've grown older and have managed to have Art BE at the center of their lives. We need these Art Grampas god dammit. I wish I had them growing up TuT
