Many people tend to hate that the new games have new stories and characters, especially the mimic. But to me it's just like watching a new phase of the fnaf lore, like after ucn the afton story wraps up and now there's a new story with new things and focuses, yes there're still some connections to the old lore, but it's just there to clarify. Ending the story on Fnaf 6 will left sooo many questions unanswered.

I honestly think it's adorable how often the husband is brought up.

That's a very good point about the lack of foresight with the writing process. You can see this kind of thing in a lot of different places, where they've never taken a writing course in their life. They stop at the brainstorming part of the process and never write the first draft, second draft, third draft, fourth draft. It's always the idea, then the final draft. It's quite tiresome so see this over and over again. You can see a severe lack of planning in not just fnaf but plenty of other mainstream media projects where the initial idea falls apart very soon in favor of whatever the audience latches onto. They aren't there to tell a story, it's an improvised script. I can easily name a few different series and franchises that did this, where the writing completely fell apart after the first publicized iteration of the story was aired, posted, put up for sale, across at least video games and serialized shows. I like the idea of steel wool actually trying to make something cohesive and planning things out.

But please future writers, make a story first. Sequels come from questions, it's your task to use the knowledge of the existing world to answer those questions, not come up with more world to ask questions about. That is for spin offs when your story is completed and your audience is fully satisfied with the story. This is why, at least so far and I hope this doesn't age like milk, Digital Circus succeeds where Star vs the forces of evil failed.

The story was straightforward and easy to understand, but still so layered and tragic. You can really understand why each character did what they did, and realise that the characters aren't black and white, they're ALL shades of gray (minus Fiona. She's too pure and doesn't have a bad bone in her body)

I agree with wanting Arnold to speak more. Like, the fact that he doesn't even make a noise when the mimic is INSIDE HIS CAR and actively trying to kill him is crazy to me. I do however like the detail of Arnolds breathing getting more panicked and heavy whenever paranormal activity is happening around him, makes him feel a more alive! :)

I honestly don’t understand the whole divide between the “Old Fans” vs “New Fans”. Way before UCN was even a thing, every new FNaF installment challenged what we thought we knew about the series. Some things were confirmed and others were merely expanded on while still leaving a bigger mystery. And that’s the beauty of FNaF that I don’t think a lot of the “Old Fans” understand. This game is a perfect representation of what FNaF is all about. I genuinely don’t understand the hate, I had a blast playing this game. It’s consistent, hella fun, beautiful to listen to, ahead of its time storywise, and overall an amazing game. I think this is the best FNaF game yet.

    I really like the video!

33:00 I think this is the part where I'm gonna have to disagree because the Mimic is definitely holding a grudge. It has shown both in this game and in RUIN that it does have sentience and intelligence, despite being bound to its programming and functions of mimicry. It not only taunts Edwin with his voice, but is smart enough to fix itself, and actively acknowledges the damage Edwin did to it while it mocked him.

In RUIN the Mimic is shown to have a clear understanding of how to manipulate someone in order to get what it wants, since it actively uses Cassie's friendship with Gregory to get her to free it, its intelligent enough to use the voice of a friend to get her to listen to it. Grimic insists to Cassie "Something grabbed him and won't let him go" so she'll feel obligated to help him. He also gaslights her whenever she suggests she goes to get help, or call the police insisting "that won't help" and that there is "no time!". This thing didn’t learn that kind of behavior from Edwin just beating it up, it consciously wants to get out of the sinkhole and is manipulating and gaslighting living people to do it. And when Cassie finally manages to free Mimic, the first thing it does is try to dispose of her.

Fun fact. Scott actually saud he did make it up as he went along. He actually never intended to go beyond fnaf 1! He has stated that most of the stuff has been thought out but to sime degree but... it was all created as he went rather then all at once. Basically he took the lore from previous titles and built onto it with new ideas to fit into the new game's. Basically making up a story as he went along.

    33:41
Y'know, when the theories started coming with the game that SURELY, M1 was posessed SOMEHOW, it felt like trying to add an extra meaning to something when the answer was right there. I like the idea that the Edwin Era/Arc is not about literally being haunted by ghosts, but rather is the creations of people who are haunted by memories creating flawed creations that end up hurting everyone else around them, in the past and present. Although I think it could be fun to combine them in future games, the M1 and M2 (I'd argue even Glitchtrap) being machines who were trained to be some sort of way and then malfunctioned or that prompt turned darker, with the animatronics who are actually haunted by spirits (David, maybe even Cassidy if they're still around lol).
IDK, I'm rambling at this point lol, great video!!
