  I tried a weekly planner but I found that while I do like the functionality of weekly and monthly spreads there just isn&apos;t enough space for the things I write or daily notes, etc. The cousin having monthly weekly and daily pages is perfect for me. I&apos;ve been bullet journaling the hobonichi spread in a midori notebook to wrap the year but got a cousin in hand for 2027. Pretty stoked seeing what people do with it.

  I have to say that the Hobonichi is not for everyone especially because of the price point, especially because there are a lot of planners and brands that do the same thing, but I love it because of how thin and satisfying it is to write on and filp through the Tomoe River Paper. Journaling and laying down thoughts has been super fun this year because of it. I don&apos;t do time blocking, so I thought that the weekly spreads would be useless for me, but I saw some use cases and ended up using them as a daily tracker for health and stuff. And while it looks like the way they formatted the pages is very structured, the user still has the freedom to do what they want with it; Hobonichi themselves had recently published an article showing what their Japanese users do with their products, plus there are a lot of posts online with users doing different things with the pages. 10/10 would buy again next year 😁

  My answer is YES &nbsp;IVE BEEN USING A COUSIN FOR 5 YEARS NOW. IVE TRIED LOTS OF NOTEBOOKS ANF JOURNALS AND HOBONICHI WORKS FOR ME RIGHT DOWN THE LIST.

  I just got second hand April start 2026 Cousin to try and I am pretty surprised how much it helped me to brainstorm, plan and observe my life. I plan in the weekly and a bit in monthly pages and use daily for logging and notes and micro journalling. It is a unique book! I will keep using to see if I want 2027 one but it looks good!

  This year is my first time purchasing Hobonichi. I was in between the A6 and A5, what definitely convince me to buy the A5 cousin is two things. One i write quite a lot and second, exactly what you said at the end of the video, i think A5 cousin is for a person that would like to plan and journaling. I heard is not to easy to carry everywhere but i would probably make it work :D Nice video!

  I use the Hobonichi Original (slightly smaller) for work and the Cousin for personal use, all of what they have is a great option, I been using it for several years… and I agree, black pages are totally okay, no pressure to skip a day or a few.<br>If you order from the hobonichi website my Cousin has always come with a Uni Jetstream Tri-Color ballpoint pen. I recommend using it, it doesn’t typically blend out to the next page, but if you have a strong hand it will leave an intention. I also use the Sara’s Nano .3 and the Sara’s Clip .5, they don’t bleed into the back page and depending on your handwriting the indentions do not ruin the backside. <br>You can buy sections of what is in the Cousin to see if you like it, I hope you give it a try and find it useful!!
