Those sneaky drill sergeants will steal your weapon if your not paying attention.

Your weapon eventually becomes an extension of your body and you feel odd without it.

Also, don't ever have an accidental discharge of a weapon, even if it is blanks. Keep your finger out of the trigger guard! At Advanced Camp at Bragg in '96, a cadet had an accidental discharge of an M-60 (blank), and the senior Tac Officer, made him write a letter home to his mother explaining how he had "killed" himself. Of course he didn't actually mail it home, but he did have to read it to the platoon.

Or you can say "Wassup, sir" to the Drill Sergeant - instant death.
Edit: Spelling.

By far my favorite thing to do when I find an unattended weapon is to just to completely disassemble it and just leave it.

Things Not to do at BCT:
-☝️ Lt is correct, don’t lose your weapon, keep it on you at all times and make sure it’s on safe until you’re ready to fire it at the range. Muzzle awareness, Guy!
-Never talk back to your DS, for the sake of the rest of your platoon.
-And Keep your hands to yourself, SHARP charge is no joke and you can get kicked out if you are flagged.
Good luck and have a great Army day!

Imagine if the drill sergeant made him sing " hello rifle my old friend, I will never lose you again. Because I lost you the sergeant will smoke me again, now I will have to start over again"
