It’s also important to mention you don’t need to read just self help / non fiction books. Fiction books are a great start to creating a reading habit 🎉❤

These type of videos are healing this platform and also our brains.

Only watched 20 seconds of the video but I already have to say: do urself a favor and read fiction, in the long run you'll realize that's where the magic, the eloquency, and the imagination really are, only that can get oyu hooked and mindblown, my fav author is Herman Hesse (if you want something that will help you that is not self help, and will also blow your mind, I recommend Siddhartha, by this magnificent author). Self help industry is confusing and contradictory, gets you obsessed, wouldn't go back. That said, I will continue watching the video

Okay from someone who was at one point a massive reader, obsessive almost, to probably not reading any books for five years, to today where for the last two years I have had a (fairly) consistent reading hobby, this is what I learnt:
- Read because its fun, not because you can extract something out of it. (That comes later).
- Reading is a muscle, the more you do it, the easier it becomes. This also applies to the difficulty of the book, start with "easy" books, like seriously fun fiction.
- Finally fiction is your friend. It is not a waste of time to read fiction, in the same way it is not a waste of time to watch a really great move. Fiction colours your life, brings you joy, and... improves your general reading skill.
- All reading is good reading, so just read.

You, sir, are a wildly talented content creator. The montage with your girlfriend at the coast with “Brown Eyed Girl” playing in the background was a gorgeous, joyful piece of art. I normally listen more than look at YouTube videos, but when this came on I literally stopped what I was doing and became completely captivated by it. It was like the world around me melted away for a few minutes. You teach, you empower, you entertain, and you create beautiful, visual pieces of art - most creators on YouTube only manage to do one of those four things. You have, without a doubt, found your calling in life and are adding immense value into this world. Your 1+ mill followers are coming shortly…

I remember reading this book, Step Into the Life You Deserve by Arden Kale, during a stretch where I felt stuck and secretly hoped one small adjustment could shift everything, and this title tapped into that hope. Watching this made me think about the first time I changed one tiny behavior and saw momentum build unexpectedly. It’s wild how one habit, when repeated daily, can quietly restructure your confidence and direction.

Totally me, every time i read a non fiction book. But when it comes to novels, i can finish a book in one sitting.

I think a valuable thing to note to is that fiction is also worth consuming. You mention you could be watching a tv show or a movie, but instead you're going to read... I mean unless all the tv shows and movies you watch are documentaries you're replacing fictional media with self help materials. And don't get me wrong that's absolutely worth doing. I just finished a parenting book this week (for my 3rd book of the year so far). But don't forget that there is some great art out there. So much amazing writing in the world of fiction.

I recommend thinking about the kinda stories you like from movies/tv, plug it into chatgpt or something and generate some fictional titles to check out!

What I miss here is the actual Purpoise of Reading: Fun.

Everything You did here was all about Performative Skills, but not about the Joy of Literature, which is what Reading is all about in the First Place. Allow Yourself to relax, to do Nothing else than immersing Yourself into the Story, Characters, Locations & Atmosphere of the Book.

If I read the Sea Wolf by Jack London and I get to the Moment where Wolf Larsens Ship called "Ghost" appears from the Mist of the Ocean, I just don't read it. I see it. I SEE the "Ghost" appear from the Mist of the Vastness of the Ocean. I HEAR the Noises of the Water, the Noises of the Ship moving through the Water, I FEEL the Cold of the Scenery taking up the Atmosphere.

You know, what I mean? I'm not just reading the Text, I'm taking the Text in to basically transform it into my imaginary Movie, just to enjoy it as if I would watch an actual Movie. And THAT EXACT PRACTICES feels incredibly stimulating, tbh because it triggers multiple intellectual as well as psychological Traits of my Mind and therefore training them actively, right in the Moment. And at the same Time, by committing Myself to Reading regularily it becomes an integral Part of my Daily Routine. Almost like some Kind of Meditational Fun.

If I would read just for Performative Reasons, I'd definitely encounter the same Struggles as You did. Because I only would treat Reading as a Tool and not as an immersive & meditative Way of consuming engaging Stories & Thoughts through the Reading of Books.

Which is why I'd highly recommend You to watch a Video by Max Joseph called "Bookstores: How to read more Books in the Golden Age of Content". Mostly because I have the Feeling that his Journey with his own Reading Habit might help You to understand bettwer what Reading is actually about and how to make it a consistent Daily Routine for Yourself.

Still a great Video though. I'm very happy, that You shared This with us and I really really wish You all the Best imaginable and that You can find Your Way into the Joy of Reading for the Sake of Fun & Relaxation in the Future. Greetings from Germany btW and keep going, Friend. 😁✌
