  heres a fun fact about CTR<br>naughty dog was planning to kill the crash franchise with CTR so wanted to put something so ridiculous and stupid into the game nobody would take it seriously and walk away from the series<br>so they came up with the idea of putting an alien into the story as the main villain but the funny part is everyone loved oxide and the game sold like hot cakes

  I will always hold the opinion that CTR was way ahead of it&apos;s time and it&apos;s just plain better than any Mario Kart. One of my favorite things the game does, or rather doesn&apos;t do is pelt you with unfair rubberbanding and cheap items constantly (getting &quot;Mario Karted&quot;, if you will).<br>The remake is also leagues above MK as well, the roster especially deserves mention with how it practically has an element from every era of Crash, meanwhile Mario Kart is still excluding Diddy Kong after 9 fucking games. <br>I really wish the game hadn&apos;t been judged so hardly, because the addition of the microtransactions killed all the hype the game had because everyone jumped to conclusions and assumed the game was gonna assault them with EA styled purchases, when the devs did their best to mitigate the addition with new modes and ways to earn Wumpa Coins better (I&apos;m not defending the MTs btw, i&apos;m just saying it was a bit overblown, especially compared to mario kart tour, which was doing the same thing but worse) The game also got left with pretty bad loading times and a mediocre to bad online mode that didn&apos;t got fixed because the devs got cut off by Activision deciding to end the updates before they could reach the 1 year anniversary.

If you had a console in your household, you usually had one console and that&apos;s it. For people without Nintendo console, a game that&apos;s just “Mario Kart but for the console I own” was very much way more alluring than buying a second console.

  There&apos;s a video by TheLoaten17 about the CTTR DS port that gets some info from the developers of the game. Mario Kart DS pretty much had nothing to do with the cancellation and that excuse was just given by the CEO of the company responsible for it, Sensory Sweep, to hide the fact that the whole project fell through thanks to him being terrible managing it and the company as a whole.
