  GPUs modded in some chinese garden shed will never never cease to amaze me. If only they wouldn&apos;t be that expensive I would like to try my luck with them as well...<br><br>Edit: Now I&apos;m amused by the people who took the &quot;garden shed&quot; seriously. Yes guys, I&apos;m aware that these are professionals with advanced machines and the whole shebang.

  the 3080 20 GB was planned and rumored thats why it&apos;s probably working normally with dafault drivers.

  I recommend you to watch Gamers Nexus video about GPU modding in China. Basicly what they do is, they remove the main GPU unit from the OG PCB and solder it to the new PCB with heaps of RAM.

  Pretty standard set of components for 30 series GPU.<br>DC-DC converters (1.8V,PEX,5V) are GStek, everyone was using them at the time.<br><br>Depending on the version of the PCB 3 or 4 phases will be dedicated to memory voltage (~1.35V). The rest is Vcore. &nbsp;And there is plenty of them this PCB was derived from 3090 PCBs, which had memory chips on both sides.<br>- Power stages BLN0 if I see correctly, pretty standard.<br>- The PWM controllers are uP9512 (uPI Semiconductor)<br>- Can&apos;t see power monitoring chips, but I&apos;ll bet these are also UPI to go along with the PWMs<br><br>This set of parts you would expect on lower-tier 30/40 GPUs. Like MSI Ventus, Asus TUF, etc.<br>Higher tier GPUs would use Onsemi or MPS solutions.

  Take note, that some games are coded to not go beyond your GPUs vram, and instead drop settings, regardless of what you set them to, like some textures in the background will be ass, to drop vram usage. <br>That&apos;s probably what&apos;s happening with TLOU.

  The 3080 shares the same GA102 die as the 3090. The 3090 reference card uses 24 1GB chips clamshell design. So, reuse the 3090 reference PCB design, but pair the 3080 chip with 20 1GB chips nets you 20GB VRAM.
