  Most of the cast had to go through sword fight training. Except Cary Elwes. His training for The Princess Bride meant he was already very proficient.

  A couple facts for you. When Carey Elwes says "Unlike some Robin Hoods I can speak with an English accent", that was in reference to Robin Hood Prince of Theives. Kevin Costner's English accent was so bad the director eventually told him to just speak with your regular accent. Also the hangman in this movie is the same one from Blazing Saddles. He even dressed the same.

  Two jokes you might have missed are <br>1) the fox joke. In 1993, the best way to message someone was to fax them a message, but since it is 12th century they have to fox the Merry Men. <br>2) When Latrine said I can save your life to sheriff when he got stabbed, she gave him a Lifesavers candy.

  The actor who plays the &quot;King&quot; is Richard Lewis. A prominent stand up comedian back in the 80&apos;s. Mel Brooks has been very generous with giving comedic roles to prominent stand up comedians. One of the reasons I love his movies.

  I absolutely LOVE Dom DeLuise. &nbsp;One of my all time favorites, and he doesn&apos;t disappoint in this movie either. &nbsp;Also cheers to Dave Chappelle, as this was his career film debut.

  For those that may not know: The wandering mole is a reference to Young Frankenstein when Marty Feldman (Igor) was moving the hump. Feldman started doing it just to mess with the others, and once they realized it, Mel Brooks made it a running gag of the film.

  Cary Elwes is one of those actors who can make you laugh with his face alone, and he&apos;s not even pulling a face as such. He just smirks, and it&apos;s hilarious.

  The sheriff of Nottingham in this is clearly based off of Alan Rickman’s portrayal in Robin Hood prince of thieves

  Fun Fact: The woman who played Latrine is Tracey Ullman. In the 80&apos;s, she had her own show. The show featured a little cartoon segment that would take on a life of its own. That would be The Simpsons.
