Doble Vida: Dos Hermanas y un Gemelo Inventado | Antonio Banderas

Art Dodge has charm, imagination, and an art gallery on the verge of bankruptcy. What he lacks is money. To keep his business afloat, pay his employees, and prevent debt from destroying him, Art resorts to petty swindles. His strategy involves targeting wealthy families and convincing them that a deceased relative had commissioned a painting shortly before dying. But one of his cons lands him squarely in front of Gene, a powerful man with dangerous connections and very little patience for liars. While trying to escape Gene's men, Art ends up hiding in the car of Betty Kerner, a millionaire heiress who is impulsive and completely captivated by him. The attraction is immediate. Betty wastes no time and soon begins discussing marriage, luxury, and a new life together. For a man hounded by debt, it seems like the perfect solution. Until he meets Liz. Liz is Betty's sister. She's elegant, intelligent, and much more reserved. Art falls in love with her, but he knows that revealing the truth would destroy their engagement and forever close any possibility of winning her over. Then he makes the biggest mistake of his life. He invents Bart, a supposed twin brother with a different personality, impeccable style, and a carefully crafted backstory. Suddenly, Art must become two men: one engaged to Betty and the other in love with Liz. Each visit requires a new change of clothes. Each phone call could expose the lie. Each encounter between the sisters brings disaster closer. And as if maintaining two identities weren't enough, Gene continues to watch from the shadows. Betty's dangerous ex-husband still cares about her and isn't about to let a stranger ruin her life. Between a gallery in crisis, a wedding approaching too quickly, two impossible romances, and an identity that never existed, Art must improvise relentlessly. But the more perfect his lie seems, the harder it is to remember who he's supposed to be in front of each person.
