Hey Roger, cautionary tale with weed. I was dragging in a big weed fish one day when it suddenly let go of my paternoster close to shore. The sinker shot past my head and the hook flew with it an embedded into my face a centimetre below my eye. Could have been real bad. So now when I get weed I hold the rod to the side so that if the weed lets go the rig flies off to the side and not at me. Might be best practice.

Honestly Roger, you guys are blessed being able to get bait like that.<br>I don't know that we get beach worms in Victoria? I've never seen them myself or seen anyone trying to catch them.<br>Our version of sand worms are the soft tube worms.

To avoid snapping the head of those big worms I dig the sand till I grab them with my both hands and gently pulling them, I attach the stocking to my belt to free my both hands

Hi Roger. Here in the Atlantic (Portugal) weed is sometimes a problem too, specially in the summer or after a storm. <br>We usualy use 14 to 15 foot rods for long cast beach fishing. That 13 seems really good and probably lighter. <br>Like the new shirt color. Cheers!
