If you put a 2x4 along the top edge (outside, both sides of the truck) of the boxes, the pressure will be evenly distributed along the boxes. This won't lessen the number of straps but it will prevent the crushing of the boxes.

With walk away splits seems like larger is better..more resources the better( that includes bees)

I always use new boxes for brood chambers and now that im old i just change the color of the new boxes each year <br>I used to buy a bright color and a couple white then paint with the color and keep adding white to the can until the job was done ✔️

Make yourself a queen builder and throw virgin queens in those splits. You will save 12 days on each split.

Try thining the paint out. You dont need full thickness out of a sprayer. And you'll get alot more from each gallon of paint. Just add some acetone.

A little trick to help keep your straps from getting into the tires is to take the end and tuck it under the strap going into the ratchet before it's completely tight. No loose ends flopping around and tie the extra loop onto the taught strap.
