When Dwight Yoakum talked Buck into touring with him Buck said that that was the most fun he'd had since Don died.  I saw Buck and Dwight together.  K.D. Lang opened for them.  Then Dwight came and did his set.  As is his style, he never smiled at all.  Then Buck came out and Dwight had this huge smile the entire time.  It made me think of Don and his constant smile. It made me sad and smile at the same time.  R.I.P. Don and Buck.  Thanks for the music.

I feel for his wife and children. They suffered the greatest loss. Rest in peace Don!

Cause of accident has come to light very recently and it’s been proven that his front tire came apart and also the tires from that time period had a recall listed on them. Unfortunately for Don it was too late. His accident was so sad and I’ve always felt bad for his family, wife and two boys. Buck suffered as well as we all know. He lost a part of himself that day 7/17/1974. R.I.P. “Dangerous” Don Rich.

A real sad day in music history.  Don Rich's loss is still felt all these years later.  I became a huge Buck Owens fan way back in the 1960s as a teenager, when I first heard his records coming out of jukeboxes and on the radio.  Later on I learned who Buck's wonderful lead guitar player and harmony singer was named Don Rich.  Those guys were fantastic together and it's no wonder Buck Owens was never the same when Don died.   They were hugely influential, and Don's guitar playing still sets a golden standard today.  No wonder people like the Beatles loved Buck Owens and Don Rich, they were the greatest.  RIP Don Rich and Buck Owens.

I was once friends with Don’s son and wife. They helped me through some of the roughest times in my life. Super great people and made a great impact on my life.

Don seemed like a God-sent musical extension of Buck Owens.  His harmony singing sounded like “one” when he sang with Buck. And his guitar work was a perfect fit that helped define their songs.  Incredible pairing.  I wish I had seen him play in concert. True talent.  Nice video and info!

I got to see Buck on one of his last shows at the Chrystal Palace. He was playing very few shows at the time so I was lucky he decided to come in that night after telling staff he wouldn’t be. Buck was wonderful but you could tell he wasn’t feeling that well. Something kept telling me I needed to go see Buck during that time. I’m so glad I did. Within a couple months Buck was gone. My husband and I made the trip back to Buck’s viewing and funeral. I’m so happy we did. So many Artists and fans showed up to pay tribute to Buck. He was so well loved.
