  2 female friends were having a conversation about dating. I sat quietly, drinking my beer, listening in. After 2 hours of non stop chatter I said to them &quot;Hey, did you know that all this boils down to 2 main complaints : the 1st complaint is that you hate it when guys approach you. The 2nd complaint is that guys don&apos;t approach. ( they were nodding in agreement) How can you have these two complaints AT THE SAME TIME?&quot; <br>They looked at each other, looked back at me like I was a &nbsp;homeless who just pissed themself and said &quot;We just want the RIGHT guys to approach us&quot;. <br>What followed can be summarised as &quot;men must read our mind and know when we find them attractive&quot;.<br><br>Edit: thank you to those who read and understood the point of this anecdote. <br>It was early February 2009 in Rovaniemi, Finland. My friends spoke English as a politeness to me when they could have spoken Finnish together. There&apos;s a universalness to female behaviour. I don&apos;t blame females for it, but I am aware of it and you should be aware of it too. Thanks everyone.

  Like 15 years ago my father who’s from Eastern Europe complained that he can’t even talk to women in the USA, in the sense that they’re awfully unapproachable.<br><br>And he’s absolutely right.

  I met my husband at work. We chatted a lot and i thought he liked me but no matter how many hints I dropped he never asked me out. One day I found out that he was being transferred to another of our company&apos;s locations in our city and I wasn&apos;t going to see him regularly anymore. I decided that I had to do something, so the next time I saw him I walked up to him, handed a piece if paper with my phone number on it and said &quot;Call me some time if you want to go out&quot; and walked off. I am not generally an outgoing person and it was so unbelievably nerve wracking to do it! &nbsp;I have so much sympathy for guys having to ask women out. Anyway, he called the very next day and 15 years later we are still together. Ladies, ask THEM out! Many times the shy guys are the sweetest!

  When men approach me, I am warm and welcoming, no matter who he is. It takes a lot of courage to approach a woman. I am married and can set my boundaries confidently. As they leave I tell them that I admire their courage and appreciate the compliment. Made my day. Rejection doesn’t have to be cruel. It can be done with kindness.
