I have celiac and my partner would never eat one of my gluten free snacks. He occasionally takes bites if I say it tastes good but he knows his snack choices are nearly unlimited where mine are very limited. The OPs partner is a dick.

The 1:1 thing is a problem because it encourages her eating disorder and starts fights. Pushing people to comply with the disorder isn’t healing, it just makes it easy to not face the problem.

Tbh I know a lot of people laugh about celiac disease but I totally understand OP’s struggle… it’s so disheartening to not be able to enjoy “The simple things”, the spice of life, shared meals, communal safety, simple pleasures… it’s all gone for us with celiac.

Man the girlfriend did not handle this well at all. Like I get her being upset but she definitely escalated into an argument. My sister has celiacs and they’ve arranged things so that their kids and her husband and guests can eat regular bread without cross contaminating the kitchen and her health is maintained.

Op is not the a hole I help lead a youth group of 30 teens , if they can understand gluten free options are only for gluten free people ,then a 29 yr old woman surely can!

My man would NEVERRRR eat my gluten free (ONCE IN A BLUE MOON) treats. He eats whatever he wants on his own time and is a total sweetheart, brings me gluten free goodies when he comes across them- OP’s gf is selfish. I lived with a roommate who would eat my gluten free food and it’s enough to drive one insane.

S1: the psychological issues around food insecurity seem to be the biggest problem. The person is feeling assaulted because they think food is being withheld from them. That sounds like something they need to talk about in therapy (alone or together)
