  In 1955 Buick made a very hot police car. And it was a 2 door . Buick took their hot engine in their lightest vehicle. They used the braking system off the bigger and heavier cars to make the car able to stop very quickly. And it was never offered to the public.

  The car identified as a 1950 Oldsmobile in this video, is actually a 1955 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88.  In 1955, the Oldsmobile 88 came in three models: the Dynamic 88 was base model and came in 2 and 4 door pillared (door post) sedans; the Super 88 was the mid- level model and came in 2 and 4 door pillared sedans, and as a 2 door Holiday hardtop; the Delta 88 came in 2 and 4 door pillared sedans, and as a 2 and 4 door Hiliday pillarless hardtop sport sedans.  Ultimately the Dynamic 88 and Super 88 models were discontinued a few years later in the early 1960s when the Starfire model was introduced.  The Delta 88 remained as one of the best Oldsmobile models throughout the rest of the life of Oldsmobile until that division was deleted completely from the GM line-up in the late 1990s.

  The 1955 Chrysler C 300 was never officially sold for law-enforcement Duty. I believe the slideshow showed a Chrysler Windsor, which would’ve been a cheaper option. The Dodge coronet was used that year, I believe.

  That Oldsmobile is a 1954 model…..not ‘55. However what narrator was correct about 1950 88 performance.
