I think this would be forgivable if eve wasn't a genius about how matter worked and had to actively learn and remember the correct molecule and matter configurations. I doubt the average person knows the exact formula to build a parachute from scratch on the molecular scale so eve would have a limited playstyle that grew over Time. The conquest foght would have been more hype because of it.

I think Eve was a mistake writing wise, she was given such overwhelming power but was never given any narrative blocks. I believe we've only been told that she's only got mental blocks to prevent her from manipulating living matter, but given that she can manipulate anything non-living to an atomic level, she should have been a character heavily restrained by both mental, psychological and narrative blocks. Because without any of that Eve appears either stupid or completely unwilling to use her powers to protect people.

Honestly, the powerscaling in Invincible is terrible. Not just with Atom Eve. Cause to be the best and most powerful in their world, you just have to be stronger and punch harder than anyone. Everything in Invincible literally boils down to physical strenght.

Gwen from ben 10 has this same problem. In her base form that she has control over she's capable of shit like erasing people's memories, manipulating the elements, matter manipulation and even time manipulation yet most of the time she just uses useless pink walls

She has the potential to turn Thragg and Conquest into sandwiches and I think about that a lot.

Invincible's powerscaling is a complete desaster, not only Eve

In season 2 they nerfed her stamina in preparation to her big fights. She got tired building a wall in season 2 but built a tree house from scratch with no stress in season 1. Eve's full power mode is the most powerful in universe but she's sidelined as a love interest.

I think what makes it worse for her Awakened State is that she is not actively TRYING to figure out how to access it. With this imminent threat of viltrumites and these dangerous beings, you’d THINK that she would be doing ALL she can to figure out how to access her awakened state so she can safely no-diff and pack up all these powerful beings with her trump card.

But she never talks about trying this, trying to figure out anything more that her origins can provide her or trying to experiment. How could you have an absolute trump card on your hands and do ABSOLUTELY nothing to achieve it?

The thing is that the writer’s could have even given a compelling reason for this. Like they could have brought in the whole, “absolutely power potentially corrupting absolutely”. Similar to how Superman doesn’t want to achieve his full potential (by absorbing power from all suns) because he is concerned about what that level of power could turn him into, Atom Eve could have been given the same struggle. She is afraid of how she may perceive people and reality if she becomes an absolute being capable of bending all matter and reality to her whim.

It’s better than just not addressing it at all.

Honestly Eve should have just stayed a pink lantern with healing powers has she was intruced honestly. (In both show and comic her ability being manipulating matter is a twist) it makea her lamer sure but kirkman himself says he has ZERO idea what eve can and cannot do so he might has well have done that. Would have saved me A LOT of headache as to why she is so useless.

Lets not forget she literally increased the density of air, yet refused to use that ability to do any real damage. She couldve increased or decreased the density of the air in Conquests lungs, or made a big pink hand grenade in his mouth, or turn his metal arm into a pool noodle. She coulda turned his freaking glass eye into a tumor. Eves biggest nerf is her own lack of intelligence. Why not instead of increasing the air density around conquest, she turned it all into lava. The possibilities are litterally endless.

Also, couldn't Eve's without her limiters giver herself a Viltrumites physiology? During the battle with Conquest when she rebuilds her body she can look over and see the atoms that make up Mark and Conquest and alter her own atoms to match so she can be a bigger help to Mark.
