  My friends don't understand how I don't charge when repairing garments or giving away good when I grow too much. The learning is not happening, we need to stop the accumulation of things urge.

  We did experience a period of genuine degrow during covid lockdown whence we could breath cleaner air, and seeing animals joyfully occupying those empty streets.   Stop making plastic for pointless things.<br>Stop allowing ethanol production for cars.<br>Stop making are clothes out of plastics and a very water hungry cotton we have cotton trees they use way less and production is higher just never top them so they can get bigger and bigger holding more and more cotton every year.<br>Cotton plant 2 years dead replace with new seeds<br>Cotton trees can produce on the 5 to 10th year and can live 30 to 200 years or more depending on the kind planted<br>And growing different kinds on the same land will reduce pests and increase tree health and potentially production as well.<br>Trees will reduce soil loss wind and they also reduce flooding.<br>Trees also pull nutrients up from deep down and rain it down in the form of leafs.<br>Stop removing leafs from the ground alow it to become soil again stop using chemical fertilizer.

  Here in the US, consumerism is a religion. We are marketed to in order to buy something every few seconds, between ads on social media, tv, streaming, ads on the highway, ads on cars and trucks. We need to cut the noise before degrowth can be better understood and accepted in this culture here.

  Perpetual growth is a mirage. We live within limited spaces with limited resources and we aren&apos;t massively keen to become space nomads.

  Old California dude here. Keep advocating for these changes young people! It&apos;s your future! American/global gangster capitalism is slowly dying, and the sociopaths who benefit the most from it will do literally ANYTHING to prevent that from happening, including destroying everything worth cherishing in our world . . . it&apos;s up to you to stop them!

  A first step would be to try and shift many products into a circular production chain somehow. Lots of food from restaurants are still thrown away. If there would be an compost service that would already be beneficial. I&apos;ve seen cafés use their coffee ground to grow the plants in their café and give it away as free compost, and use compostable cutlery etc. It doesn&apos;t always need to be huge big steps. People don&apos;t like big changes. But at some point you have to sit down and brainstorm with a team and take steps. <br><br>Building community is also a great one. Many years ago you could ask a neighbour to borrow a ladder or something, now many can&apos;t anymore and we all have a ladder in our storage just in case.... I&apos;ve also seen so many community centres only having a FB page, which is sometimes even poorly maintained. Or it&apos;s only offline information available, and not even the many villagers know what is going on in their own community centre, such a shame! Not many people walk into a community centre spontaneously, or even know there is one.... Print some posters, put it out there, seek out the people and grow the community!
