I'm honestly really looking forward to how the Contact Gloves 3 turn out

They were just announced and no one really has them for review yet, but as someone who has tried a lot of different gloves, they look INSANELY promising

I love your like.. irritated/annoyed tone in these videos when there’s problems, which there always is

I like to think you live like a sitcom, where just constant inconveniences happen or things just never work properly and you’re just always irritated lol

Didn't know Quest finger tracking addons were a thing. I may look into the Contact Sheet.

I got a pair of these gloves last August. I did like them overall, especially being much more comfortable than wearing the controllers, but some of the sensors started not working properly within 2 months. Probably something not being durable enough, because they are all for the fingers that would be resting on my legs when I'm holding a controller in my hand, sitting, and letting my hands rest on my legs. (I'd stream playing non-VR games while in FBT gear with the gloves) I haven't put the time into trying to figure out what's wrong and trying to fix it yet. My best guess is it's probably either some bad wire connections or damaged wires. I've manually adjusted the calibration curve for those fingers to just make them permanently closed for now.

I haven't tried the updated software yet, but my workaround for the VRChat issue was to disable as many of the gesture functions in VRChat as I could, then disable any controller bindings in SteamVR that VRChat wanted to just handle on its own with finger gestures, so they wouldn't both be trying to do things. It was actually not too bad that way, though there were still some non-disableable gestures I'd activate somehow (even though they were difficult to activate when trying to). I'll have to try out the update. Maybe this means finally being able to adjust gesture sensitivity through SteamVR, since it's no longer using VRChat's unconfigurable gestures? (especially the awful grab oversensitivity) No idea if they fixed the joystick calibration, but on the old version I still have the sticks worked pretty decently if you only calibrated the cardinal directions rather than going all the way around with the stick.

Speaking of the sticks, at least a couple times I've accidentally had the sticks' ends catch on something because I wasn't paying attention, and I had the little ends get pulled off, which were difficult to find with the color of carpet I've got, but I did find them and put them back on.

I own a pair of EOZ gloves (the ones with full closed fingers). And they have pretty much most of the same problems you've described here. The controller module is tiny and hard to operate. Pointing and clicking (e.g. for typing) is a hassle, and it shifts around when you "press" the trigger. Finger splay only reliably works between the index and middle fingers. There is no full finger control on VRChat - only curling, like on the Valve Index.

I will say, it is funny that the recent UDCAP glove update is they created a new control module that is pretty similar to the HIGVR control module (A/B buttons are closer than the analog stick is the only difference).
EOZ gloves will be interesting at least. The Tundra tracker requirement is kind of irrelevant unless you already have a stockpile of spare trackers anyway. You could say it effects the base price, but all gloves require trackers.

Personally, I'm hoping the new Diver-X (or their new name) V3 gloves work well. Their previous were 'okay' but the control module is still top tier.
