  I heard that the whole reason as to why Meg gets abused in the first place was because of the fact that her original voice actress quit working for the show, Seth MacFarlane didn't like that, and that was all it took for her to become the show's living punching bag. Which, if you ask me, is altogether petty, childish, stupid and straight up cruel for Seth to do.

  I had a friend in high school who's father abused her and at one point started calling her 'Meg' as part of it. Television has the power to normalize things. it bleeds into real life in ways you don't expect.

  Meg’s treatment and characterization always disturbed me. Shes the only girl among the kids and she’s beaten and abused relentlessly. I imagine there are a lot of megs out there that are begging to be taken seriously

  I remember being in middle school and asking someone why everyone hated her so much. The person responded with "Because it's Meg????" in a "duh" kind of way. I never understood and never found this shit funny. I actually kind of hate this show because of that because of how much I see myself in her in the way she's treated.

  The problem with Family Guy is that it prioritizes the comedy over any attempt at a narrative, but it somehow also fails to actually be funny.

  Seahorse Seashell Party always pissed me off. She rightfully calls her awful family out only to take it all back because she thought she needed to be the lightning rod to keep the family together. No. No. Fuck no. You get out of that abusive relationship. You do not owe your abusers anything.

  Ya know I never noticed till now that Meg does have a lot of hidden talents. But it also tells a sad story, people who are usually mistreated or alone spend their time developing skills to make themselves more liked, it's also good to have hobbies when you are lonely
