  Formerly Henderson mine became the Gold King mine after my Grandfather worked with his Cousins the Millers, Sanders snd Powells, he left when the old mine played out. Grandpa Dudley Powell rode his horse from Atlanta to Arizona when he was 14 to work these mines; as the ore played out he realised his kin were plotting to kill him, he rode to Prescott, lied about his age &nbsp;and joined the ARMY. Served in Germany during WWI where his Lungs were damaged by mustard gas. After the war he got his engineering degree, helped build the Golden Gate bridge and when Aunt Dorothy and Mom were born he was the engineer at the power plant down on the Verde River in Childs, Arizona. The family Bible, Powell, Miller, Sanders families is in the Pioneers museum in Prescott to this day. The Millers of Miller valley, the Sanders of Sanders Arizona and my Great Great Grand Uncle J. W. Powell were all settlers. I got a lot of kin burried in northern Arizona.

  As a former tow truck driver for an OPG in Los Angeles, we got a lot of calls for abandoned cars over the side in the mountains north of LA. The Mazda is almost guaranteed stolen. And doors were opened to verify nobody was in it/verify VIN. And it&apos;s still there because it&apos;s probably not worth the cost of recovery. Insurance writes it off and the sheriff&apos;s or troopers made the call that the risk is greater than recovering it. In California, you&apos;ll see tons of cars and if theyre newer, they&apos;ll have a spray paint mark on them showing that they are aware they are there and checked. Not saying thats the case here, but it wouldn&apos;t surprise me if it were.

  If that was a stolen car. Most likely they had their fun in it and then ghosted it down the side on purpose to take longer to find.

  Amazing video. My Mother was born in Jerome in 1926 and my Grandfather was a Miner and probably worked in that Mine. Thank you for the great footage and stories.

  Spent several years off-roading with our Jeep club here in AZ, and I’m a drone pilot too. There is always something to see/find because of the extensive Native American presence, mining, and homesteading. Im enjoying your videos as you explore Arizona. Thanks for sharing.
