The whole Let it Bleed album is great: not only one of the best from the Stones, but one of the best period!

I remember winning a T-shirt from a local radio station because I was able to answer correctly that the French Horn was the 2nd instrument played on "You Can't Always Get What You Want". All those years of music study, and they finally paid off.

The London Bach Choir performed on this track. Their 60 voices were double-tracked in the studio to create a larger, fuller sound in the opening and closing of the song. Nice tongue-in-cheek touch for the Stones to add their voices to this track. The Choir asked for their name to be removed from the album when they found out it was called Let It Bleed and contained the song “Midnight Rambler”, written about a serial killer.

Iconic is the right word for this song. The Stones have about a hundred of them.

That's Al Kooper on French Horn. He was the original member-leader of Blood Sweat and Tears. In that group, he was the lead singer and keyboard player. He was also the original organist on Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone.

Effortless groove - the Stones absolute masters of laid back grooviness

It's a good plan to listen the studio version of a song FIRST, then you can appreciate (or not) the live version. Works with any band.

Keef was a chorister as a kid, apparently a talented soprano.

Coughed a bit too hard one day aged around 13, and discovered rock n roll.

One of the rare Stones tracks without drummer Charlie Watts. In this instance they are played by producer Jimmy Miller.

Pure Genius starting with the beautiful women`s choir and the song for me has real meaning and the only drugs i have taken in my long life is alcohol
One of my favourite quotes is by Winston Churchill when he said he had taken more alcohol than alcohol had taken out of me
