  I love this movie!   It so captures the heart of what was going on during the war.   So typical this family.   It was a time of great loss but also great love and patriotism.   Our country was unified.   Thank you for posting it.

  This is a Christmas movie that tells the true story of millions of Americans coping with a very bad time in history. I hope that all the people that watch the modern love story Christmas movies watch this one too, and learn something. Thanks for sharing.

  I’ve been waiting for this lovely film to be shown again. Such a reminder of how precious life is and of how many other lives we touch in this world by our presence in it. <br>God bless our Special Forces now and forever. Amen. 🙏🌹🇬🇧

  I remember this Movie so well...... In my Family, &nbsp;this was how my parents lived as my Dad was in WWII ...... he came home to us. &nbsp;Thank goodness. &nbsp; However, &nbsp;we spent most of my life, living with my grandparents, &nbsp;because the strain of the War, took so much from my Dad&apos;s fragile body, he passed away less than 15 years after &quot; The Big War &quot; .....leaving my Mother a Widow at 32 years of age. &nbsp;With 4 children to raise, so was the most Remarkable &nbsp;Woman &amp; Nursing Professor, &nbsp;in this World. &nbsp; &nbsp;She&apos;s with Dad now.... her only true love. &nbsp; We wish them Happy Christmas, &nbsp;together in Heaven ... &nbsp;Thank you for this beautiful Movie; especially with Hal Holbrook and Davey .... my life in in this Movie. &nbsp;Thank you for the Memories ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  I was 19 and watching with my neighbor and mother when they filmed it. It was wonderful to meet Hal Holbrook and Eva Marie Saint. The town was decked out like the 1940s. It was amazing! Cherished memories I&apos;ll never forget!

  That was a beautiful movie but oh how my heart hurts and my eyes sore from stinging tears, but im very glad that i saw this movie. Eva Marie Saint and Hal Holbrook &nbsp;were the two most perfect actors for this movie.

  My Dad was a merchant marine during WWII. It was before i was born. He attended Kings Point Naval Academy.
