  Lets be honest, if you sold car with 36k and the gearbox service was due at 38k, you should really have just serviced the gearbox

  To be honest the customer may well not have known the intervals for the gearbox service, but as a dealer you would or should know and therefore should have had it done before sale and explicitly make the customer aware when the purchase the car.

  Known this guy from years back before he sold cars and he is a genuinely lovely bloke. Friendly to everyone and would have no doubt he would look after you if something went wrong. Great to see doing well with a lovely family. 👍

  6 months you have to stand by the car, no matter what the mileage, over six months they have to prove fault was there at point of sale, if it went to court you would lose, been there many times

  I get it’s hard but why not just service the gearbox and put another few hundred pounds on the price to avoid this headache. He’s only done afew thousand miles, surely a no brainer to repair it or you may aswell be a private seller.

  Great video, you handled all very well. I don't do aftermarket extended warranties, you don't really want people coming back for 3 years just to earn a few quid commission, I peg it a 3 mths warranty or 30 days on cheaper stuff, I blew 1000s on a couple of range rovers and I'll not stock them now.

  even if he didnt get the extra warranty you still have to warranty it for 6 months.
