  Professional painter here, not only to human eyes view certain hues as lighter or darker but colours can influence other colours. Blues surrounded by oranges can look more grey. This also happens with coloured lighting red light shine on green will defuse colour. For red, yellow, blue primary colours they are used for paint mixing (different to inks). For acrylic artists the primary colours you need are, cool red warm red, warm yellow cool yellow, ultramarine and phthalo blue, white and either dark brown or black. You can create brown by mixing the primary colours together and certain greys by mixing complementary colours (purple and yellow for example). This is taught in school as red, yellow, blue are easily purchased and safe for kids to use and under stand.

Sex linked genes are on the X chromosome, and recessive genes need to be the only ones there to show up. So males are more likely to be colorblind because they only need one colorblind gene, meanwhile females need two (intersex people with different chromosomes are obviously different, XXY have the same chances as XX, and X have the same chances as XY. That only accounts for chromosomal differences because well its linked to chromosomes)

  Red-green colour blindness is the most common because the red and green cone cells evolved from each other only &quot;recently&quot; and still measure fairly similar wavelengths. I only just realised this while watching your video and then playing with the LMS colour space demo on your website.

  To be fair, HDR videos look bright because not enough people use them. If most people used HDR pictures, non-HDR ones would look too dark instead
