  All of us 80s kids wanted to be Goonies after seeing this film.<br><br>They built a full-scale pirate ship for this movie. Richard Donner kept the kids away from the ship until they came down the water slide to get their real reactions. Unfortunately, Josh Brolin let slip an f-bomb, so Donner couldn&apos;t use the first take.<br><br>The lighthouse, point and restaurant are real places on the Oregon coast. Goonies fans visit there.<br><br>I saw a convention panel with Joe Pantoliano and Robert Davi (Francis and Jake Fratelli). They do bicker like brothers!

  Trivia moment: The familiar-looking brown fedora Jake Fratelli wears while escaping jail at the beginning is <b>literally</b> Indiana Jones&apos;s hat. &nbsp;Spielberg said in some commentary/interview that he brought it fresh from the filming of Temple of Doom (where Ke Huy Quan had also recently been filming playing Short Round) and plopped it on Robert Davi&apos;s head for shooting that opening. &nbsp;So it&apos;s at least one of the hero hats, if not the main one.<br><br>Trivia moment 2: I went to UC Berkeley, where I only later found out Jeff Cohen (Chunk) had also gone to school (just a year ahead of me apparently), been elected the student body president, and would do the truffle shuffle during our school football games, to massive applause.

  I was 9 years old when this released and when I saw it. It was the perfect movie for our generation.

  When they asked Cindi Lauper if they could purchase the use of her song for this film she wanted to see it. she was brough in during post shooting to see the film and she loved it so much she begged to make a music video that could be released as a bonus to promote the film.
