This is great stuff! I am just now learning how to go backward or forward through the circle of fifths to land on a chord (or use tri tone sub), and using the chromatic and diminished movements will add a ton of fun to the mix.

hey josh, as a jazzer I too do this all the time, same scale, yet in my mind I tend to be thinking of it is one of the many options for putting a V function in front of a chord... So while yes in your example its a dim scale off the ^7 of the chord i am going to, yet in my mind I am more apt to think of it as the b9 of the V chord... seems to roll off my fingers more automatically that way because i am so used to V to I movements and all the substitution options there in for tension/colour etc... good stuff. Love your fire man.
