  I imagine the way ships the size of an Acclamator or Venator use their landing struts is not by using them as the entire support structure but in-tandem with repulsorlifts. The repulsorlift lessens the load on the struts while the struts taking some of the load allows for the reactor to not be run at maximum capacity to support the repulsorlifts. I also imagine that once a dedicated landing site has been constructed (mainly shoring up the ground and foundation so the struts don’t sink into the surface) you can land and completely turn off the repulsorlifts for maintenance or energy savings.

  If I remember correctly the Lusankya was lowered down to the planet in a repulsor cradle disguised as a planetary shield generator.
