  Everyone always says, “whatever you do, don’t lose your identity to motherhood”. That’s so bizarre to me. My identity has completely changed. How could it not? My title has changed. My life has changed irreversibly. I created a life that is currently completely dependent on me. Of course it’s my identity now. I’m not great at it yet, but I’m trying to be.

  I am a female millennial raised by baby boomer parents. It was very important to them that my sister and i be high achievers. We are now in our late 30's, and working STEM jobs. We were encouraged to the point of being bullied by our parents to move away for fancier career opportunites. Now they are asking where are the grandchildren? Sorry, i am beaten down and exhausted. I would have no support if i had children. Family lives thousands of miles away. I can't do everything!

  We need to embrace part-time, professional job options for parents. It seems like it is all or nothing, unless you want to work an hourly job.

  The only people who have made me feel "less than" for staying home with my son are other women, particularly working women/moms.

  I gave up a job making $100,000 a year because money can be made but time with my kids can not. <br>My parents both put their kids last to their careers, prestige, and personal wants like fancy cars and things for strangers. <br>They had no friends and enjoyed work more than they enjoyed each other or being with us. We were often left home alone when we were 4 years old and then left alone for a week at a time while they vacationed when I was 12 and my sister was 10. <br>We were the last of any of their concerns.<br>I wanted my children to know they were #1 and our top priority.

  You&apos;ve got the wrong friends if everyone looks at you weird for being a mom... My friends are all moms.

  I&apos;ve been at home with my 2 boys for 4 and a half years, I&apos;ve struggled feeling worthless but thankfully have an amazing partner to be there for me when he&apos;s not away working. Watching these videos calm me and remind me I&apos;m doing the right thing ❤

  you know human-society&apos;s going backwards when there are people who think and say that raising the literal next generations of workers to be happy well-adjusted individuals does not count as contributing to society.

  What I find crazy is the parents that dropped you off to strangers for money will clutch the pearls in shock when we drop them off at the rest home strangers for money.
