The ashes do actually disappear from Kratos's skin when he gives his weapons and magic to the tree, but in this game his natural skin is not nearly as dark as the first two games

One thing I will say about Chains is the bit where Kratos has to legit FORCE himself away from Calliope

9:10 when COO was coming out, they had not unlocked the psp’s full potential. Sony had it locked to 222mhz to save on battery life. Then they overclocked it to 333hz in a system update. That’s why games afterwards could utilize more power from the psp (compare Ghost of Sparta)

Chains of Olympus has probably the most hype special soundtrack in the Greek saga imo. The Persian music that plays when your fighting the Persian king and the basilisk fucking SLAP 🔥🔥🔥🔥 also watching this video made me realize how inconsistent this game is with Kratos’s character, but the scenes with his daughter are very memorable (even mentioned in ragnorak Valhalla). But yea this is my favorite of the psp games, played it so many times while on trips or at my grandparents house lol.

Great video as always! Definitely worth the wait and I totally agree w your story analysis of the series so far, not to mention how in-depth you always go into everything else before getting to it. Your GoW reviews have been second to none and I can't wait to see you destroy 3 like you did this one!

And for the record, I have been watching most of what you've been pumping out lately: The MK reviews (keep those up please), that Punisher game, Sparking Zero, etc. They were all very entertaining, but I'm mostly just a lurker who doesn't comment much if I have nothing to add, unless it's a livestreams ofc. That is to say I definitely look forward to watching your videos when the topic interests me (which let's be honset, isn't a guarantee because of the niche older shit I tend to enjoy). And sure, I can only speak for myself when I say all this, but that's better than nothing (not by much but still 😅). So don't get too discouraged, you're doing great, even if your efforts aren't as recognized as they should.

And here's a tip, I imagine you have enough games in your head to cover that you'll probably never run out, but if you're not doing this already, consider asking your subs for game suggestions, then make a list and start reviewing them from time to time in-between the stuff you actually want to cover. That way, they'd at least have a reason to stick around besides just waiting for your next God of War video.

I think this game should have been about Kratos stoping Morpheus so he can awake the gods and be given some sort of temporary anime power up sort of thing to be able to stand against Persephone.
maybe this would create the plot hole of why the gods didn't gave Kratos this hypotetical super power when he was going to fight Ares so it would have to be a something that only last a few minutes like the fusions in dragon ball. Besides in the first game they sort of do that with the magics and the Artemis sword right?

its not perfect but at least its more than just Kratos killing a god while still being a mortal without an explanation

Try this, evade with L1+R1 and square for the shoulder attack then quickly press the X once to cancel the remaining tail of the animation, im addicted to this and it only works in Ghost of Sparta and chains of Olympus.
