  No safety gear on (PFD/harness/tether) with the breeze on, lines flying, sails shredding. &nbsp;Sheet, easy to go overboard and hella harder to get back on.

  my question would be : &nbsp; why is there &nbsp;a 10 Cent GRUBSCREW even ON that boat ? ... why wasn&apos;t it Stainless Steel and TIGHTENED ?.... &nbsp;and why wasn&apos;t a brand new Yanmar checked, AND rechecked BEFORE leaving the frickin&apos; dock ? &nbsp; somebody in all this has COMPLETELY dropped the frickin&apos; ball....folks, this episode is a VERY GOOD look at what could happen when you don&apos;t do things right.......I&apos;ll say this again : &nbsp;YOU DON&apos;T GET ANY &quot;OVERS&quot; &nbsp;ON THE BIG BLUE......do it RIGHT, or it can cost you your lives......glad you guys made it thru alla that.......OnWard.......

  It looks like you’re captain suffered from sunk cost bias. You should research it. Riley I think you would find it interesting, it’s an aviation phenomena described in human factors.

  As a teenager I lived aboard with my parents and we sailed from Maine to Florida and the Bahamas. The first day we set sail heading south and off the coast of MA we had a fire in the forepeak. My dad had me take the helm at age 14 while he went below (a small TV had caught fire that was attached to a battery). I was terrified as we were going into the wind (63 ft mast) and I was dodging lobster pots and at sunset. What a start! But we made it and the five years I lived aboard were the absolute best of my life! Good on ya!

  This is none of my business!!! <br>BUT, I think it’s time your nice family go to Australia find a nice place to live. One of you find a job you enjoy. Send your boys to school where they can interact to other children. You have a nice boat where you can enjoy sailing around Australia. All of the above is. I’m looking out for your family’s safety. I am over 80 years old, I have been on the ocean all my life. I know what can happen!😅
