Very informative video but you omitted one very important point:

Not all prostate cancer cells express the PSMA protein, so the tracer has nothing to attach to. Apparently, about 10% or so of patients would be PSMA negative.

I has a radical prostatectomy that failed, followed by salvage radiation therapy that also failed.

I had a 68-Ga-PSMA-11 PET SCAN at UCLA when my PSA was 0.22 ng/mL. I knew the scan had only a 30%-40% chance of finding anything at that low PSA level, but I was hoping we could see something so the radiation oncologist would know where to zap. It didn't.

After the SRT failed, I've had 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET scans with my PSA at 0.37, 0.95, and 2.52. All of them came back with "no evidence of prostate cancer or metastases." On the surface, that sounds good, but I'm convinced that I'm in that 10% for whom PSMA PET scans don't work.

Thank you very much for this wonderful presentation. Is this technique specific to prostate cancer only and could other prostate leision I.e. prostatitis interfere the imaging?

Are there cases where it doesn't pick up?

My husband was told from his dr that with this test he don’t need to get a regular Ct scan to see if he has liver cancer. But how is that if this test is just to see if his prostate cancer has spread.

So when will this scan cost less than $5,000? How much does medicare cover without plan G?

My cancer doctor just really does nothing to so what my prostate cancer is doing. I had to ask hime to even give me a CT to compare to my earlier one. Cancer I know is in most of my lymph nodes. Just lupron shots that have made my life a living hell. Go around all day draped in towels and soaked tees.
I would rather die. I do have guns or enough pain pills to get this over.Slowly clearing out my home and giving thing away I can never use again.
