  Thank you so much for sharing this, Sheldon. I live here on Kauaʻi, up on the North Shore, and watching what you captured on the South Side was absolutely heartbreaking. It honestly brought me to tears. Your photography is incredible, and as a fellow resident, I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to document this devastation while seeing what our island and community were going through. Thank you for using your passion and talent to capture and share this so beautifully. ❤️🙏 Kauaʻi is such a special place, and these images really touched my heart.

  I love Hawaii and this is such a horrible thing to cope with and I’m so sorry. My favorite island is Maui and my heart is broken for Lahaina ever since the fire. Thank you for keeping those of us that live on the mainland up dated! My prayers are continually focusing on all the islands!

  My family was scheduled spend Christmas vacation on Kauai in 1992. It didn’t happen because of Iniki. We ended up on the Big Island instead, and I fell in love with the island. Seven years later, I was living there in Waikoloa. My time spent in the islands has been the very best of my life. It’s been a horrible blow and I pray for everyone in the islands. A hui hou ❤🌺🐋🌴🙏

  Such a beautiful way to share Kaua’i in pictures, even in the wake of such devastation. &nbsp;I am from Kaua’i, and it is hard to see the damage, but also know that Kaua’i is strong and always has been. &nbsp;My mother is in the pictures from the kupuna group that plays on Fridays. &nbsp;She is the one in the foreground at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N2ui1eFyJA&amp;t=1156">19:16</a>…Kawahine Kaui. &nbsp;I know that group will continue to rally and bring joy and encouragement to all &nbsp;through their music as Kaua’i heals. &nbsp;Mahalo piha for sharing your video, photography, and moving commentary.

  Sheadon, what a moving telling of the devastation of Lowell. I remember Iniki. We were supposed to come for our honeymoon and never rescheduled. I did, come with girlfriends for my 50th. And I was planning another birthday for 2027. I’ll keep coming back because of the people. So kind. So generous. Much aloha. 🌺
