These scenes brought tears to my eyes: <br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49un0kVB0r8&t=47">0:47</a> when Robert kissed the house, <br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49un0kVB0r8&t=88">1:28</a> when Andrew invited Mr. Carson to enter by the front door, <br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49un0kVB0r8&t=184">3:04</a> when Mary danced with Matthew, <br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49un0kVB0r8&t=222">3:42</a> which showed Violet and <br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49un0kVB0r8&t=255">4:15</a> which showed Sybil.

I like this ending for Mary. It shows that Matthew is still the love of her life and always will be. But that does not mean she is miserable. Even if no one else ever comes close it does not mean you half to be unhappy forever. You can still love them and be happy in your life until (depending on your beliefs) you are reunited again.

This was a very nice ending, it was really nice that they added Syble even for a few seconds.

It was a great way to bring Downton to a conclusion. That nod to Dame Maggie was a beautiful moment ❤. Loved the whole series. British period drama at it's absolute best!

I thought it was odd how Robert and Cora, still the current Earl and Countess of Grantham, (who as Mary herself said in an episode, “live at Downton), moved out of the house to the Dowager House, leaving Mary alone, but for the children, in that vast building.
